About PetitAmour Flower
Our Name
PetitAmour [pə'ti:ɑ:mu] — from petit, meaning small, and amour, meaning love.
I chose this name from a simple belief that has stayed with me throughout my creative journey: some of life’s most meaningful moments begin with the smallest expressions of love.
To me, beauty has never been about scale or excess. It lives in thoughtful details, quiet gestures, and the feeling that remains long after a moment has passed.
This is where the story of PetitAmour begins.
Our Story
I founded PetitAmour in 2010, originally as a fashion design studio. Over time, my creative expression evolved from textiles to flowers, and PetitAmour grew with me into the floral design house it is today.
The transition felt natural. Fashion and floral design share many of the same languages — color, proportion, texture, movement, composition, and the relationship between a design and the person experiencing it.
Flowers simply gave me a new way to tell stories.
Today, I bring these disciplines together through bespoke floral and spatial design, creating environments that feel personal to the people, place, and moment they are designed for.
The medium has changed over the years, but the heart of my work has remained the same: to create with intention, sensitivity, and a deep respect for beauty and craftsmanship.
My Philosophy
I believe floral design is more than decoration.
Flowers can transform the way a space feels. They can soften architecture, bring movement into a room, hold meaning within a ceremony, and express emotions that are sometimes difficult to put into words.
For every project, I begin by listening. I consider not only the flowers, but the architecture, light, season, color, movement, and most importantly, the people who will experience the space.
I do not begin with a predetermined design or repeat the same formula from one celebration to another. Each project develops through conversation, observation, and careful refinement until the flowers feel as though they truly belong to that particular moment.
Flowers are my medium, but creating a meaningful experience is at the heart of my work.
Florist & Artistic Director
I am Hyunju Youn, florist and artistic director of PetitAmour.
My creative background began in fashion and expanded through professional studies in floristry, event design, and horticultural therapy, together with continued education and experience across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
These different disciplines have shaped the way I see floral design today. I am drawn to natural movement, nuanced color, texture, proportion, and the relationship between flowers and the space surrounding them.
I also believe that a designer should never stop learning. I continue to study, practice, experiment, and teach because every new experience changes the way I see and create.
Technical knowledge matters deeply to me, but it should never overpower emotion. The most beautiful work, to me, is the work in which technique becomes almost invisible and what remains is simply a feeling.
Our Canvas
Every space tells me something different.
I have had the opportunity to create floral designs for weddings, intimate celebrations, private and corporate gatherings, educational institutions, and museum exhibitions — from a single bouquet held closely in someone’s hands to large-scale floral installations that transform an entire environment.
I do not believe every space needs to look like PetitAmour.
Instead, I want PetitAmour to understand the space.
Its architecture, landscape, season, light, purpose, and the people gathering there all become part of the design. My role is to bring these elements together so that the flowers feel naturally connected to their surroundings while remaining deeply personal to the people at the center of the occasion.
Best Moments
Over the years, I have come to believe that our best moments are rarely defined by perfection.
They are remembered through feelings — the anticipation before a ceremony, the people gathered around a table, a familiar hand holding a bouquet, the light at a particular hour, or the flowers that quietly became part of the scene.
Flowers are temporary by nature. Perhaps that is part of what makes them so meaningful.
They bloom for a moment, become part of our lives, and eventually disappear. But the atmosphere they helped create, and the memories connected to them, can remain with us for years.
This is what Best Moments means to me.
I hope my work does more than make a day beautiful. I hope it becomes a quiet part of a memory you will want to return to.
PetitAmour — for your Best Moments.
